Today was filled with so many awesome blessings! We received two packages from home that were filled with so much love and fun goodies! Then after we opened the packages...something wet started to fall from the sky! IT RAINED! Dark skies are joyous to this family in the hot dry season!
We enjoyed our dinner together as a family and soon after we finished the meal we decided to play some of the new games that we had gotten. We sat in the classroom and played some Old Maid and we were beginning a game of Go Fish when suddenly the dogs started barking. (Our dogs are great because wherever we are in the house they are right outside the window that we are near.) Then we realized as they sniffed with caution and barked in a studder, we knew that it was a snake. Our guards have been finding the trails but never found the snake this week. (Our neighbor had a 2 ft puff adder in her kitchen this week too! And down the road a 2 meter cobra that was as thick as an arm.) Kendall ran outside to find that one of the dogs had bitten the head off and the other one had the body in his mouth and was slinging it around. After much (too much) excitement the Mozambique Spitting Cobra was dead. It measured 3 feet long. It got our dog, Shadow in the eye and we are praying that she will not lose the eye. Immediately we put milk in her eye. Praise the Lord that we were inside playing games in the classroom or the dogs would not have been around to get it! Praise the Lord that Kendall was safe and that the snake is dead. God really does watch out for us in so many ways!
The snake was "dead" but because of the nerves it was still attempting to spit.
