Brokenness
I was at Ukhose yesterday for their Sunday service where I have been preaching through the book of Revelation. We are finally in heaven ( Revelation 21 that is). The whole theme of the sermon was about those who overcome enter into heaven and God will live among us. We were talking about streets of gold, precious stones, no tears, no pain, the glory of God and also the fate of the unrepentant. It was a good time in Scripture where the Spirit of God was speaking to my heart and theirs as well. The reason I am writing is because there was a man named Mathews Banda who came to the service a little drunk. I could tell he could understand what I was saying because he was answering the questions I was asking properly. We were nearing the end of the service when Mathews began to break down crying. In Zambia it is unusual that a man would do this, but I thought that Mathews was being genuine. They removed him from the service, but he came back. He then asked for prayer though I didn't really understand the reason why at first. My friend tried to explain to me that he had demons, but I didn't think that was the case. This man was broken, he had seen heaven in scripture, heard of the glory of God and realized he was a sinner. Mathews prayed to receive Christ as his Saviour that day.
