Njalazi Facing the Adversary

"Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. "  1 Peter 5:8-9

Peter was no stranger to temptation even giving into temptation and denying Christ. So knowing his history and how far he fell we should take his warning with extreme caution. We also see the work of our adversary in Matthew 13:3-9. We learn that when the seed of the Gospel is sown Satan comes in and tries to snatch it up. We have a church in a village called Njalazi and it is experiencing persecution right now. I have written about their troubles in other blog posts, but now hope to fill in the blanks about their difficulties. We had a pastor go and visit the church this weekend and only 5 adults and 3 youth showed up to attend the service when we usually have 20. There is a story that the leader slept with another man's wife. We found out today that the son of the man who is saying this about our leader slept with our leader's daughter and impregnated her. There is no evidence that our leader slept with the man's wife however the story is destroying our church and ruining the leader's reputation. Please be in prayer for this church and pray also for wisdom as we encourage this church to keep meeting and worshiping the Lord.
