A Ministry Milestone

When I was a teenager, I studied "Experiencing God". In this study, Henry Blackaby discusses "Spiritual Markers". Throughout our lives as Christians we should be able to look back and see those spiritual markers of our faith in Christ, when He taught us a big lesson, when we learned more about Him through circumstances, celebrations, or confusion. I will never forget learning that and throughout my life in Christ I love to look back and praise the Lord for all of those times of teaching.
Yesterday, was something I would like to call a "Ministry Milestone". Kendall had been anticipating and been so excited about this day for a year now. October 9, 2009, Kendall baptized Leonard Banda, the first person to pray to receive Christ in our area of Mozambique. Leonard has become a good friend and amazing disciple of Jesus Christ. Leonard was baptized along with 5 other leaders from the new churches in Mozambique (Meze and Kasenga). Kendall only baptized Leonard Banda and Samson Lungu baptized the other men in order to show them that as a leader of the church you have the God given authority to baptize other believers. It was a great day, one we will never forget as we look back and praise the Lord for the awesome things He has done and will continue to do in Mozambique and Zambia.

Kendall explained to the people there that Leonard was the first man to come to Christ and because of his witness and excitement about God's Word, the doors have opened for the people in Meze, Kasenga, and Chimbowe to hear God's Word and the Good News of Jesus Christ!

Amazing moment! One neither man will ever forget!
