If You Ever Doubted the Power of Prayer...Read This!

Paul Masiye
David Daka
On Sunday, I blogged about Ukhose Preaching Point. Tuesday, I wrote our prayer letter with prayer concerns for Ukhose. Yesterday, I posted portions of that letter as a blog. Today, I distributed our newsletter. Today, Kendall taught at Ukhose.
All of those events to say this...
GOD HAS HEARD OUR PRAYERS AND ANSWERED IN AWESOME WAYS!!!
Kendall and Paul reached Ukhose around 2:15pm today. He taught the "I am" statements in the book of John and portions of John 1. At the end of the teaching time, the plan of salvation was shared and a woman stood up to receive Christ. As Kendall asked her to pray to receive Christ, she could not confess that Jesus was Lord. She struggled and Kendall knew that she was having trouble. Within minutes, Paul Masiye, Kendall, David Daka, and Peter began praying for this woman because she was demon possessed. She confessed that she had been having extreme pains from her knees to her ankles and then in her arms. She explained that the pains were absent at night, but were extreme when the sun was high in the sky. As they prayed for her and began commanding the demon to leave her body, the woman who does not know English at all began responding to Kendall's commands in English, the demon responded. Kendall told the demon to leave her and go away in the name of Jesus Christ...all of the sudden the demon said, "No, you run away from her!!" Kendall battled with it back and forth. The girl then fell asleep. The people of Ukhose continued to pray, sing, and read Scripture out loud over this woman. Kendall knew that the Lord was telling him that the demon was not gone..to remain calm and follow the Lord's wisdom and calling. Kendall asked the people to keep praying and singing. When the woman woke up she began to say in Chinsenga, "I want to dance! I need to dance! I need to dance NOW!" Paul looked her in the eyes and said, "NO, you cannot dance, you do not belong in this woman, Jesus doesn't want you to dance!" The woman began to attempt to dance (when a person desires to receive a demon or is indwelled with a demon they desire to dance to the drums and sing the demon's song). The people there knew that she could not dance because it would only encourage the demon. After 45 minutes of prayer for this woman, she was set free. She laid still, exhausted, worn out, free from the pain in her legs and her arms. She was now an empty house and she needed to know Jesus Christ in order that the demons would not come back to her with others and indwell her again.
Kendall began again to share the entire lesson that he had taught previously so that she could understand. He taught from John: I am the Bread of Life (John 6:35), I am the Light of the World (John 8:12), I am the Door (John 10:9), I am the Good Shepherd (John 10:11), I am the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25), I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), I am the Vine (John 15:1). This time, every person that was in attendance sat incredibly still and attentive writing every verse down and finding it in their Bibles. Kendall and I both KNOW and BELIEVE that God wanted to show His MIGHT and POWER in that place today. There is no way that anyone can believe that we are Satanists any longer. The people that are believers there saw the might and the power of a Holy God today. Praise the Lord for His grace and mercy and salvation. Please continue to pray for Mrs. Mumba as she walks in a new life with Christ. Pray that she finds peace, safety, hope, love, and joy in Jesus Christ alone!
Your prayers for this village have been ANSWERED in more ways than we can express.
THANK YOU FOR KNOWING AND TRUSTING THE POWER OF PRAYER!

Another amazing testimony from this village. Peter has been coming to Bible Study and worship on Sunday since day one. Mrs. Mumba, the woman who was set free today is his cousin that he invited to come. Today he testified to the church how Jesus Christ has changed his life. He said, "when I came to Jesus Christ I drank a lot of beer and smoked all day long. Since that day, I have not been drinking as much and I am almost finished smoking. Little by little (pang'ono pang'ono) I am stopping, but it is because of Jesus in my life." PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
Do you think that God is moving in Ukhose? Please do not cease to pray for these believers. Praise the Lord for their childlike faith! Praise the Lord for their salvation!
