Just A Reminder of Who Is In Control

Kendall and I love to pray for rain in Zambia during the times of year when there is no rain. Yesterday, was one of those days. When I woke up in the morning I saw that the sky was overcast and said a small prayer, "Lord, send rain today, to show our Zambian brothers and sisters that You are the God of Creation and that ALL things are in the palm of your mighty hand." Later in the day, I looked to the south and saw rain falling and a rainbow in the sky. I then mentioned to Kendall that I had prayed for rain and he replied, "I prayed that it would rain today to shake things up for the Zambians." We were so excited to see the rain in the distance. Within the next hour and a half, lightning and thunder were at our back door. Storm clouds rolled in and the winds increased. At 8:30pm, joy and praise in the form of raindrops fell upon our roof. Kendall and I praised the Lord as the rain fell for over an hour. The dry earth was rejoicing and our hearts were refreshed! We pray that the Zambians would see the rain as a blessing and as a reminder that God is in control of all things! Although it is the beginning of the dry season, God wanted to remind us all that He is the Creator and the sustainer of nature and life!
This picture is the southwest side of our home.
The picture at the beginning of the post is of the southeast side, right before the rains at about 6pm.

Hey Joy - It's Susan Simpson from Mt. Park FBC. I noticed a posting you made on The Nalls website. Katie is the sister of a friend of mine. I'm in nursing school with Katie's sister-in-law, Karen. I've been keeping up with Chris and Katie's blog since they got there. Hope you are doing well. Your family is adorable. You will be in my prayers.
