Visitation Day

Today started out as a day of running errands in a nearby city, Petauke. Upon our arrival there we ran into a friend of ours from Chipata, Patrick Lungu. Lungu is now the headman of a village there and wanted us to stop by to visit his new home. He is the headman of Kachanga Village and his extended family resides there. We visited his family and had a delicious lunch. As we were finishing our meal, Lily runs into the house and says, "The piggy is honking at Easton!" We all broke out into laughter because she just kept saying, "the pig is honking!" Fun times.
Zambian tradition is to send your guests away with a gift to thank them for their visit. We were showered with gifts of peanuts and a chicken! We were so excited because this is our FIRST chicken gift in Zambia!

After we arrived home, Zeria and I went to visit Jenny Nzunda and her new baby boy. The baby was born on Friday afternoon. I had never held a NEW Zambian baby before, but oh what a joy it was! We had a sweet visit with Joseph, Jenny, and there 4 boys! Here are some pictures of our day!

The Nzunda Family

I was happy to get a picture with Paul...the proud big brother! He is 4 years old, the 3rd child.
