Mwengelele Baptist

On Sunday, we were invited to worship at Mwengelele Baptist Church. The church members were so excited that Kendall had come to preach. They have not had a missionary come and preach at their church at all. Kendall and I were so glad that God gave us the opportunity to encourage this body of believers on Sunday. Several of the men come to the leaders discipleship that Kendall leads every 2 weeks in Kacholola. The congregation was young and filled with joy and excitement. During the service 30 people prayed to receive Christ! Praise the Lord for His faithfulness! Pray that this church will continue to grow and that the leaders would follow Christ's example as they lead the church. Pray that they will be faithful in preaching the Word of God. It is encouraging to see a church this strong because it has been built by and strengthened by national leaders and national believers, the missionary has only been an encouragement. Our goal is to see Zambians planting churches and teaching the Word of God and we as missionaries merely being a cheerleader in the spreading of the Gospel.
Inside Mwengelele
They prepared chicken, rice, and nshima for us for lunch, it was delicious!

The Zambian children love to shake hands with Lily and Easton and they really like touching their soft, blond hair!

We received a chicken as a gift from the church, Easton loved the chicken!

So did Lily!

These are the rest of the gifts: bananas, pumpkins, peanuts, and mponda. The large bag you see is full of peanuts!

Lauren loves bananas and eats about 3-5 a day! I had a hard time explaining that these were not ready to eat yet!The green small squash looking things are the mpando, they are like a cross between a pumpkin and a squash and you boil them and eat them.
