We Were Concerned....

There is a church in the Nyimba Association that has been on our hearts due to some incredibly heavy circumstances facing several members of the church. Kendall and I have been leary about going there just because of all that has been going on. Over 20 people from this church attended the Nyimba AGM and were really desiring to be fed and grow in God's Word which was such an awesome answer to prayer! This past weekend, Samson and Jumbe, went to this church to lead a weekend meeting and to be in attendance for the baptism service on Sunday. We were praying so hard that God would use these two men in a mighty way. After one of Samson's lessons, people of the church started standing up one-by-one and confessing their sins. A woman stood up and said that she was a prostitute, a leader of the church confessed he drinks, and the confessions continued. The people were ready to confess, repent, and turn to Christ.
"For I confess my iniquity; I am full of anxiety because of my sin." Psalm 38:18
"He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion." Proverbs 28:13

Samson and Jumbe said that a lot of people repented. Knowing what we know about Scripture, it is nothing of human nature to repent and confess one's sins. It is never easy to admit that we struggle with specific sins. Praise the Lord that this church is desiring to grow in Christ! Praise the Lord for Samson and Jumbe going there this weekend to teach them. Pray that these moments of confession would be a regular occurance that would be followed by repentance and faith in Christ.
