Where Everybody Knows Your Name...

We are so excited and blessed to have Martin visiting us and ministering with us for three weeks here in Nyimba. I have known Martin since he was born. His mother was very influential in my life in regards to missions because she was my Acteens leader when I was in high school. It is so neat to have him here. The first full day that he was here Kendall took him to the market, the high school, the mill, and the government offices. Later in the afternoon, we visited our neighbors and it was a neat time for all of us. I am glad to be home to see friends and spend time with them! I am so thankful that they are all healthy and happy!
Martin got to taste nshima for the first time at Zeria's house! No better place to do it!

As usual, Lauren and Easton did not pass up the opportunity to eat nshima!

When we left our gate to visit the neighors, two of Kendall's best friends, Charles Mwanza and Jumbe were there and they spent over an hour catching up and talking about plans to minister together in Nyimba.

Our first stop was at Lekezo Tembo's house. Lekezo works at the prison farm. She is originally from the Western Province of Zambia and is of the Lozi tribe. She had her five children outside helping her shell maize to prepare to sell it.

Zeria, Martin, and the kids all joined in. My kiddos love to help shell maize and we had wanted Martin to get to try it out as well!

Lekezo and Zeria

Lekezo told Easton to climb the maize and pretend like he was a champion! You can't see it, but he is in his fireman rain boots which makes this awesome!

Lauren joined in on the fun of climbing "Maize Mountain"!

As the sun was beginning to set, we made our way to see our other neighbor, Chilufiya. She was washing laundry and we were able to spend some time visiting with her.
