Our third Christmas in Zambia was by FAR the most exciting and enjoyable Christmas that Kendall and I have had since we moved here. There are several factors that played into that, the kids are older now and we have learned to really make our family traditions during the Christmas season, and we had some great friends come to join us for Christmas. The Vines family came to see us on the 23rd and were here for all of the Christmas preparations and left today, the 27th. We had an awesome time cooking, eating, playing games, and just hanging out together. On Christmas Day, Dwayne and Betty Mitchell, and John McPherson are members of our team and they came to join all of us for Christmas lunch! We all prayed for a cool day with electricity and the Lord answered our prayers with a cooler day and BIG thunderstorms to accompany Christmas!
Our family Christmas picture, with our terrible camera! Don't worry, we got money for a new one for Christmas! YAY!
Kenny, Lesley, and Tyler Vines will be serving in Luangwa after they complete language school! We loved having them for 4 days! It was a memorable week!
I had the most fun cooking for two days with Lesley! It was so fun to have someone to say, "what do you think we should cook next?" Praise the Lord for electricity all day Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! It was also fun to have Betty and Dwayne come, I LOVE Betty's cooking!
Our menu was: glazed ham, turkey, dressing, gravy, carrot souffle, loaded baked potato casserole, green beans, corn souffle, cranberry sauce, rolls, chocolate pie, and pecan bars!
