Last Wednesday, Kendall traveled to Mayaba and began teaching the book of Genesis. After the Bible Study the people asked him, "can we meet on Sunday?" Kendall replied, "yes we can! I will gather a choir and some other church members from Nyimba and bring them too!" The people were so excited!
Sunday morning at 9 a.m. the voices of youth praising the Lord in song resounded outside of our gate and we all began to get so excited about the first Sunday at Mayaba! The youth and women piled into the back of a flat bed truck and made the 13 kilometer journey from our house to Mayaba.
The worship service was so great! Probably one of the best services that we have been apart of in Zambia. The worship songs were powerful, the youth choir from Nyimba Central did an awesome job singing, Kendall preached from Psalm 121, and Zeria shared a testimony about witchcraft and prayer. The people of Mayaba were so encouraged and happy!
Today when Kendall went back to Mayaba to teach, our man of peace, Ben Phiri told Kendall this, "Please don't forget us and help us! We are so happy that you are here." Praise the Lord for the 20 faithful people that are attending the preaching point at Mayaba! God is good! Please continue to pray for Mayaba as Kendall teaches there on Wednesdays. He is teaching through the first 5 books of the Bible (the Pentateuch).
