Thursday, I wanted to see how much the women at Ukhose remembered about what we had been studying about salvation. The entire month of February, I have been teaching salvation because I want them to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Juliet spoke up and began sharing with the group about salvation: the fall of man, the separation of God and man, Jesus sacrifice on the cross for our sins, his resurrection, and how we can come to Jesus by confessing our sins, repenting of our sins, and believing in Jesus. She drew the bridge illustration in the sand and taught it again. When she forgot a part the other women helped her to remember. After she shared, Amai Mumba spoke up and recalled the Good News: Jesus came to earth, died on the cross, rose again on the third day, and Jesus is coming again! 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 I was so excited that they could remember all of the things that we had been studying.
After this review of salvation, they asked me to teach more. I was not prepared for that, but God was so good and I taught the Parable of the Sower from Luke 8:4-15. I had no notes in Chinyanja so I just read the passage in Chinyanja and prayed that the Lord would recall my vocabulary. It was awesome! I cannot remember a time when I was so happy teaching. These women are so full of joy and as I was teaching about the seeds they can completely relate to the teachings because they are all planting (kushanga)their fields. Yesterday was an awesome day of teaching and sharing God's Word with these women.
Praise the Lord for their happiness to learn. The month of March we will be studying about prayer. Pray for me as I prepare lessons that the women would understand and view prayer according to the Bible.
God created the Heavens Genesis 2:4 (pamwamba) and the earth (dziko lapansi). He also created man. When He created Adam Genesis 2:7, he placed him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it Genesis 2:15. The thing that separated them was when Eve and Adam disobeyed God by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil Genesis 2:17and caused a separation between God (Mulungu) and man (munthu/ife) Genesis 3:6-24, Romans 3:23. Now there was a problem because man and God were separated. The only way that man could get to God was the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for our sins John 3:16, Romans 5:8. Jesus is the bridge between God and man. We must admit that we are a sinner, believe that Jesus died for our sins and that he rose again on the third day, and confess our need for a Savior in order to have eternal life in Jesus Christ Romans 10:9-10,13, 1 John 5:10-12, John 17:3 1 Corinthians 15:22.
