Spiritual Battles Face to Face

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39

Spiritual warfare is something that we have learned more about in the time that we have lived in Zambia. This past Sunday we worshiped with Ukhose Preaching Point. After our time with them we found out that people in that village were calling us Satanists because there is no church in the boma (town). Tuesday, I was in the market I was at a shop when a madman approached me and began babbling at me from a distance. The next thing I knew, he threw an object at me and hit me in the face. I was shocked, embarrassed, and angered. I had to realize what was happening, this man is a madman and the Holy Spirit does not dwell within his soul and as a child of God, the Holy Spirit dwells within me. As I travelled home, I began to ponder and pray more and more about the spiritual battles that wage around each of us everyday.
  • Please pray for Kendall and I to have discerning hearts when it comes to spiritual warfare.
  • Pray that God would teach us more about how to love these people and share the light and hope of Jesus Christ with them.
  • Pray for the madman in the market, Richard, we desperately want him to know Jesus, what an amazing testimony his life would be at the awe changing power Jesus has, if he came to Christ. Would you pray for him?!
  • Pray for Ukhose Preaching Point that the members would be faithful despite the rumors being spread that we are Satanists.
