Last week before I began teaching at Nyimba Central Baptist, I was talking to a young woman there about her 3 children. I asked her their names and how old they were. She looked at me in shame and said, "sinidziwa" ("I don't know"). As I began to talk with her she told me that she cannot even write her children's names because she cannot read or write.
Today as I finished teaching she spoke up and asked me if I could teach her to read and write! I was so excited because I have been praying for an opportunity to minister to a few women on a more personal basis and GOD ANSWERED MY REQUEST PERFECTLY!!!
She was so excited that I was willing to teach her! We decided that I would teach on Wednesdays at 1:00pm. The women asked her how I would teach her and she replied, "Nizapanga board" ("I will make a chalkboard"). She is making a board out of soil this week so that I have something to write on to teach her! I am so excited and a little afraid, but I know that God has given me this awesome opportunity and HE is going to speak through me to teach her! Pray for me as I prepare to teach her and pray that I will be able to share Christ with her!
