I woke up to the sound of pitter pattering feet on the tile floor, tiny whispers, and markers scribbling on papers. I was awake but I didn't want them to know that because I know that their masterpieces were a true labor of love. It was my birthday morning. As soon as they heard me rustling about I overheard the littlest one say, "she's UP...HURRY!" I snuck into the office in our bedroom and hid until they were ready to see me. My day began with three beautifully handcrafted birthday cards and HUGE hugs! Then they asked, "Mama, what can we cook you for breakfast and what color do you want us to wear for your special day?" I replied, "coffee and cheese toast and I would love it if everyone wore blue!" I stayed in the office while the three little chefs began to work. About 15 minutes later they came into my room with my toast and coffee. Easton says, "Mama, I tasted your coffee until I knew it was how you liked it!" The day had begun perfect and that was just the beginning! We made a trip to the market and had three packages from family and friends that provided us much excitement and goodies! The kids wanted to make my birthday dessert. So they helped me to make Peanut Butter Pretzel balls (my favorite). We played games and had such a fun day together! I would have to say that this birthday will go down as one of the more memorable and precious ones thus far!
