I could write for a day in order to tell all of the stories of how God worked among the six members of the Universal City Baptist Alpha Team. In short, they took six flights to arrive in Lusaka, the next day the Nyimba Association Youth Meeting began and for two days after the meeting they spent time evangelizing in two villages around Nyimba. The pictures tell the stories better than I can!
The morning began with the women sweeping the meeting area.
375 youth traveled many miles to gather for a weekend of fellowship and teaching.
Each churches choir wrote two songs about salvation. Chiyanjano's choir of 35 members sang a song and it said, "Mom and Dad, why have you left us alone and not taught us about Jesus?"
The Helgren Family and the Alpha Team along with Gideon, Jumbe, and Benjamin.
Wil gave his testimony about his True Love Waits ring and the youth were amazed that he was remaining pure until marriage.
Lauren loves being in the village with our Zambian friends.
Beautiful children at the meeting.
The Jesus Film was shown and 20+ people prayed to receive Christ.
Women cooking at the youth meeting.
The people at the pond for baptism.
38 people were baptized on Sunday afternoon!
People rejoiced with the newly baptized believers!!
Wil, Kendall, and Jim were overjoyed with the awesome experience of baptism!
Charms were cut off the babies of those who prayed to receive Christ.
Immediately after, the charms were burned.
The people of Chinsenga Village were thankful for the visitors that came to share Christ. The headwoman (in purple) is a Baptist and is excited about a church being started in her village.
Nothing beats a mission trip to Africa like a dead battery in the middle of a village.
Gifts of friendship and thanks were given by Mr. and Mrs. Samson Lungu.
God's Word was studied and taught.
When asked, "what do you know about God?" These two men replied, "rain comes and our crops grow". They had never heard of Jesus nor the beautiful message of salvation. Praise the Lord that these two men prayed to receive Christ that day!
As we left the villages we were overjoyed by our new brothers and sisters in Christ.
The team on our way back to Lusaka next to a baobab tree near the Luangwa River.
The sun sets on another awesome week of ministry in Nyimba! Praise Him for the awesome things He has done!
