Eternal Influence

Last July, a team from Gila Valley Baptist Church came to minister alongside us among the Nsenga people. They interacted with many people. One of the women that Jane, Elaine, and Miranda visited with was the tailor made of my skirts and suits. These three women took the time to share Jesus Christ with Patricia. Patricia prayed to receive Jesus that day in her shop in the market of Nyimba.

Today, we found out that Patricia fell ill on Monday. She was taken to the hospital where she did not speak a word to anyone. She passed away and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon. Praise the Lord for the three women who took the time to share Christ with Patricia. Because of their love and willingness to share the Gospel with her, Patricia is in Heaven with her Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Death is rampant in Zambia. Just in the past week, there have been 7 funerals that we have been made aware of, neighbors, family members of friends, and church members. After we heard the news, I looked at Zeria and she said, "Joy, every time I hear that someone that I knew and really liked died, my heart goes THUMP THUMP and I am sick." It was a tough day for our family. Patricia was only 28 years old. Please pray for her family and pray that Kendall and I can be a light and encouragement to the numerous family and friends around us that experience the loss of a loved one.
