Salomi's House

I met my neighbor, Salomi, at Sprewey's funeral in March. We have become good friends since then. Right now in Zambia, the corn has been harvested and everyone is shelling corn and taking it to the market to sell. My kids have learned how to shuck and shell corn and it has been a great time for me to speak Chichewa and remain close to home! I am going to miss Salomi a lot! She is such a sweet friend and I am blessed to know her!

Salomi and me

Salomi and Zeria (they are great friends)
Lauren loves Salomi's because it is cool and quiet in her yard!
Easton loves to hit things...so Salomi's daughters have taught him how to hit the dried corn and break it up for them in order to make mealie meal for nshima!
He LOVES this activity!

He took the camera and handed it to me and said "chee", which in Easton's terms...
"take my picture!"
I am pounding groundnuts (peanuts) for Salomi to cook with pumpkin leaves.

YAY for new friends & the opportunity to serve them & share Jesus with them! So cute that Easton is helping! I mean, Child Labor Lawmakers in the US might not be happy, but it is great that he can beat on stuff & it actually be helpful! :0)
