The weekend of August 17-19 was an exciting time for our family and the Baptist Churches in Nyimba! The area of Kamono Baptist Church was surveyed, evangelized, and taught by the leadership of the churches near it. In church planting, we call this church a second generation church because it was planted by another church. We were so excited to see the faithfulness of the leaders to remain committed to reaching Kamono for Christ. On August 17, people from the neighboring Baptist churches gathered at Kamono for the weekend to have a meeting to open the church. There were 356 people in attendance at the meeting and 22 people were baptized on Sunday. It is a missionary's goal to teach leaders how to lead and plant churches on their own. We are seeing this in Nyimba and it is so exciting!

When the dates were chosen for the opening of these two churches we had a choice to make; who are we going to worship with on Sunday? Well, we decided to attend Kalulu Baptist (Mayaba Village) because Kendall had a direct hand in evangelizing and planting this church. It was so fun to see the church that they had built on their own and the people that were attending Kalulu now! Nyimba Central Baptist and Biyulu Baptist attended the weekend meeting to encourage Kalulu. There were 87 people in attendance on Sunday and it was a sweet time of worship and fellowship!

Praise the Lord for these new churches and their beginnings! Continue to pray for their leaders to grow in Christ and that they would follow God's Word and cling to the purity of God's Word.
