"Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22
Jumbe and I had prepared, studied, and were so excited to teach this program at Mambo Basic School. On our way to the school, we picked up Samson Lungu and his wife, Christina to go with us. When we arrived at the school, a member of New Jerusalem Baptist came too! I was so encouraged because the members of the nearest Baptist church came to support us and it was awesome to see them want to be involved in ministering to the youth at the school!
The head master, Mr. L and the head teacher, Mr. M had cancelled some other activities and delayed sports for the day in order for us to share with the students that are in grades 7-9. We told them that we just needed an hour of their time today and Jumbe and I were in agreement that we did not want to go over time in order that we may be invited back again.
We began the program by sharing the plan of salvation and how we need to live our lives in honor and respect of a holy God. Many times we can teach about abstinence but how will they ever desire to live a life of purity without Jesus Christ? We only taught the first two sessions of True Love Waits but were excited when the administration asked us to come again to continue the teachings. It is so neat to see how God has opened this door to teach in the school! Jumbe, Samson, and myself are excited to return and continue to teach them about godly relationships and living a life of purity.
