Darkest Hour for Our Dear Friend

He fell into a sinful life at a young age. Drinking beer, causing physical harm to others, giving himself to women and evading the police.

As he walked down the road one day, he never knew that the man he met would lead him to Christ and show him love.

He was hit by a drunk driver and realized that God had spared his life for a reason. Since that time, he has walked with the Lord and living for him even in the darkest hours.

His father is a drunkard, adulterer, almost beaten to death, and refuses to repent and turn to Christ.

He moved from his father's house to live with his cousin to escape the sin that is rampant in his home, to escape the shouting, fighting, and lack of love.

His mother has given birth to many children. She has faced an adulterous husband, been beaten almost to death by her husband, has faced demons, and turned to Christ. Now she is gone, she has runaway back to her family, she is at her wits end. She left a house full of children with no mother.

His cousin has invaded his home and taken his sisters, ages 13-17, to prostitute them to the men in his town to make money. His sisters will not listen to wisdom and continue to live in this life of sin. His heart is broken.

He moved back home to this house full of sin to take the place of his absent mother. He moved home and his cousin was put in prison. The accuser changed his story as to why his cousin should be in prison three times depending on who he was talking to.

He was angry, his cousin was being beaten in prison and there was no reason for his detainment. He came to our gate, the smell of beer was on his breath and his speech told the story of the struggle that he is facing daily. Alcohol is his weakness, we all sin and all fall short.

We are his family, no matter what, we must show him love. He has no mother, no father, sisters who are not listening to God's Word and refuse to stop their actions. Each Sunday he leads a church that has been broken and no one knows of the struggles that he faces. Does anyone care? In all things, we must love. God has put this young man in our life for a reason. He has reached so many people for Christ and knows the power of salvation in his own life from the depths of alcoholism, crime, and immorality he knows the power of the resurrection of Christ.

He is probably wondering why all of these things are happening to him. But even today, he said he knows that God knows all things and is in control. He is not running from God but to him.

Please pray for our dear friend, child, brother in his deepest and darkest hour.
Pray for God's comfort to embrace him and pray that he does not turn to the sin that once entangled him.
