The Resurrected Life

"For as Adam all die, so in CHRIST shall all be made alive." 1 Corinthians 15:22

"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with Him in a death like Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His." Romans 6:3-5

Today was the most exciting day that Kendall and I have experienced in Zambia. The reason for our joy and excitement was because 3 men that we have known as lost souls without Christ are now baptized believers and walking in the newness of life that only Jesus can provide. We have seen these three men without Jesus, ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior, and follow in obedience to Him in baptism.
Another reason why this was so exciting was that this body of believers is now officially considered to be a church because the believers are baptized and meeting with each other at least once a week for worship and Bible Study. This church began with a team from New Mexico who shared Christ with several people in the village and upon following up with the new converts, we discovered that they were eager to know more about Jesus and wanted a church! Praise the Lord for Ukhose! They are the happiest people and full of joy. They are not ashamed of their life in Jesus and have already been spreading the Gospel with other villages. Two of them now have preaching points and two others are excited about hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ! Rejoice with us today...one day we will all worship together around the Throne in Heaven! Hallelujah!

We baptized at the dam in Nyimba. This place is right on the main road to the chief's palace. Many people walked or rode by and saw these new believers testifying of their new life in Christ!

Jumbe became a Christian about a year ago and began traveling with Kendall about a year and a half ago. Now he is the leader of the church and so excited about his new life in Christ!

David Daka being baptized. He was the first believer in the village. His testimony is unbelievable! Completely the Holy Spirit! He was beaming with joy all day long!

Raised to walk in newness of life with Christ Jesus!

Kampion is Jumbe's cousin. He is a new Christian and teaches the youth and children at the church. He has been a Christian for about 6 months now.

This precious sister has been coming to Ukhose since day one, she was the first one in line after the leaders and was excited to be baptized!

Even some youth were baptized. Jumbe, Kampion, and David know these boys and know of the change in their lives and their genuine conversion. Praise the Lord for their decision to follow Christ at an age where drinking and relationships with girls are more important.

He was so excited that today was baptism day, Kendall and I have seen him every time we have been to Ukhose and has always been eager to learn.

When we thought everyone had come, Amai Daka, David's wife, came forward to be baptized. I was so happy! She was so afraid of the water. If you think about it, Zambians take bucket baths and do not swim, going underwater is something they have never done. Once she saw that everyone else was okay after going under, she felt confident to follow in obedience to Christ. I am so proud of her and rejoicing with her today!

The 13 men, women, and youth that were baptized today. It was awesome! They were so happy and joyful after the service! Praise the Lord!!
