Kendall arrived home from Mozambique on Friday, exhaused, amazed, and excited about his visit. Earlier in the day, before his departure, he completed the finishing touches on his lesson for the day and he really felt a need to write down his entire lesson (something that he never does). Soon enough, God would show him why he needed to write the lesson.
He first arrived in Meze, where the new church is, and they asked him to go to Chimbowe to do some evangelism. Kendall thought that would be a great idea.
The next village was Kasenga. When he arrived in Kasenga he found that a man that has been coming to his teachings and has received Christ has truly converted and committed his life to Christ. He and several other new believers have started building a church! The awesome thing is the location that they chose for the church, it is right next to a body of water. When asked why they put the church close to the water, their response was, "so that we can baptize". HUH?! WOW!? INCREDIBLE?! They thought about that! Kendall was so excited! He couldn't believe what God was doing in Kasenga, but of course, we have been constantly amazed at the Holy Spirit's work in Mozambique, it is NOTHING that Kendall is doing, he is just simply following God's command of sharing Christ and teaching God's Word. Kendall began to think, Meze wanted him to go to Chimbowe, a village we wanted to take the team to, and Kasenga needed someone to teach them so they can continue to grow in Christ. He stopped and looked at Leonard Banda, pulled out the lesson that he had written in full and asked Leonard, "would you be willing to stay here and teach these people, you can use my lesson." Leonard looked at Kendall and replied, "ok". After the teaching, Kendall asked Leonard how the teaching went. Leonard smiled and said that it was great and that he and Laxson (another man who goes with Kendall from Zambia) "team taught" the lesson. Kendall was so happy to hear that they are working together to teach God's Word! They are really understanding working together and Kasenga and Meze are going to be strong churches because they are close together and are already learning how to fellowship and minister together! Praise the Lord for the body of Christ in these two villages!
Final stop...Chimbowe. Kendall went to Chimbowe with Kolles Monso and Chipisani Lungu, from Meze Baptist. He met with the headman of Chimbowe and shared Christ with Him. Kendall said that the headman was very young, 24-25. The headman gave Kendall permission to teach God's Word and share the Gospel with the people of his village. Kendall was awe struck when he came home and began to share with me about Chimbowe. He said it was awesome and overwhelming because the people of Chimbowe have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord that He has opened the door to salvation for them! Next week, Kendall will go back to Chimbowe and began to share Jesus with the people there.
Pray for Chimbowe Village that God would provide one person in this village that can read God's Word so that the Gospel may be fruitful there.
Pray God's protection on this village that it will be God's village and no other god's.
Pray for Kasenga that their passion to share Christ and grow in Him would continue and mature.
Praise the Lord and pray for Meze Baptist Church to grow and be encouraged by fellowship with each other and the reading of God's Word together.

How awesome and humbling it is to "walk" with you, your family and your extended Zambian family as you walk the path God has laid out for you! How uplifting it is to know that even now God is preparing for us to be there...thinking of how much we are looking forward to it, I am suddenly struck by how much more our Father is looking forward to it!! What a happy and amazing thought.
May God continue to lead you and Kendall and keep you both so glued to His side and in tune with His desires. Thank you for the examples of your faithfulness to do what God asks, no matter how small the request might be (write down your lesson this week, Kendall)!
