Madzi is the word for water in Chichewa, the language of the people of the Eastern Province of Zambia.
For the past 3 weeks the city of Chipata has been without running water due to a broken pump at one of the city's dams.
This mechanical problem left us storing water and learning to live on a very small amount of water throughout the day. We were SO blessed to have the water come to the faucet for several hours a day in order to fill containers and complete one load of laundry! Praise the Lord!
Thank you all for praying for the city of Chipata and its residents during this difficult time! God heard our prayers and He was faithful to answer! This time of learning to be stretched and be content in all situations has taught Kendall and I so much about how blessed we truly are! Water is such a precious thing, no wonder Jesus is called the Living Water in John 4:10! Through all of this we have learned to be grateful for all God has given us (Colossians 2:7), we have learned to be content in all circumstances (Philippians 4:11), and most of all to never forget that our Father in Heaven knows our every need and is faithful to provide what we need when we need it (Psalm 147:7-9). God is good and may we never forget His love for us!

I am so encouraged by your blog today!
WOW! I can't imagine having to ration water. We in America are so spoiled by clean free flowing water. Praise the Lord for always being so faithful!
