Our Trip to Washington, D.C.

Our time here in Virginia is quickly coming to an end. We have one more full week of classes and we will be officially appointed by Dr. Rankin on April 4. As one of our assignments here at ILC, we had a day trip to Washington D.C. One of our assignments while we were there was to visit a mosque and to eat ethnically. We visited the mosque where we met a man from Senegal. This experience was a moving one and really gave me a chance to pray for Muslims worldwide. We also were able to visit the Zambian embassy and we ate at a Sudanese restaurant. (It was soo good!) After a long day in D.C. we came home and had a good night's rest. Below I have posted a picture of 2 of my missionary friends and 2 TCKs (third culture kids-formerly known as MKs). If you can, read the sign. It gives specific instructions about the attire and demeanor while at the mosque.
In His Grace,
Joy

that is cool that you got to experience some 'culture' before actually leaving the states. we are excited for you and what the Lord has in store for your family. when will you be leaving to go overseas?
