"I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he appears to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you." 2 Timothy 4:1-5
God has truly blessed us with two men were called by God to be pastors of their churches. They have been obedient in God's calling to preach God's Word in their villages, in the town of Nyimba, and in Mozambique.Several months ago, Samson traveled deep into Mozambique and found that there were two villages that had never heard the Gospel and were desperate to hear. At that time, he was unable to stay long enough to really teach them and encourage them. Samson promised them that he would return in November. He also said that he would bring Harrison and Benjamin with him to assist him in teaching and preaching.
Tomorrow, Friday, November 13, Samson and Benjamin will get on his motorbike and travel over 7 1/2 hours to the Zambezi area of Mozambique. They will meet up with a Baptist pastor, Harrison Phiri, and go to these villages to preach and teach for several days. We are SO BLESSED and THRILLED and EXCITED! The greatest part of being a missionary is seeing people that you have invested in, follow the Lord in obedience of sharing the Gospel of salvation with others!
As Kendall said today, they are going on an international mission trip to their brothers in Mozambique. This is not my work, but the work that the Lord has blessed them with! PRAISE THE LORD!
Pray for Samson, Benjamin, and Harrison as they travel tomorrow. Pray for their safety as the rains have started and the roads may be dangerous. Pray for the 120+ people that are anticipating their arrival. Pray that their hearts would be opened to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for their families as they remain at home in Zambia that God would protect them and keep them in the shelter of His wings.
