Aunty Lauren has been here for a week and today she decided to ask Lily some questions, here was the conversation.
Lauren: Lily I am leaving to go back to America in a few days. Can I take Baby Lauren home with me?
Lily: No, you can't take her.
Lauren: Can I take Easton?
Lily: Nope.
Lauren: Can I take anyone with me back to America?
Lily: No you can't.
Lauren: Why not?
Lily: You can't take anyone because we belong here...this is our home.
Lauren (with tear-filled eyes): Why do you live in Africa?
Lily: Mommy and Daddy teach Jesus.
Somedays I wonder if our children will have wonderful childhood memories because all I know of my childhood is America. God encouraged me today through the words of my 3 year old daughter that Zambia is home. Home is where our family is and great memories are made when we love each other and live in obedience to God.
It was a moment that I will never forget.
"We belong here, this is our home."

"We belong here"....And that says it all. Blessings!
Amen! Thanks you all, this post really encouraged my heart!!
I do believe that we sat in a chick-fil-a once and you told me you had to wrap your mind around the thought "home is where we are." Home is not America, Fort Worth, Atlanta, etc. Home is where Mommy, Daddy, Lily, Easton, and Lauren live". I have never forgotten that, and now I know that you have given her that stability and security. i love you Joy, you are a great Mom!
Beautiful!
Absolutely priceless. How wonderful, Joy.
Love you!
